Meditation: Withholding Nothing

What parts of your life are you holding back from God? Think about it.

If you should do an assessment right now to find out if every area of your life is surrendered to God, what would the results say? Would it say that 100% of your life is surrendered or would it say that maybe only 65% is surrendered?

I challenge you to do an assessment. Are your desires surrendered to him? Is your desire for that new job; a child, marriage, a house, a car, surrendered to Him?  God is saying, “Don’t just surrender a part of you; surrender everything.”

What does it mean to surrender everything to God? Surrendering everything to God means voluntarily giving Him control of your life; control of your desires, the situations that weigh you down; your emotions, your health; your actions, thoughts, speech, education, dreams and visions; soul mind and heart. It means giving Him your yes. It means choosing His way over yours

Surrendering everything is one of the most, if not THE most difficult thing that we will ever have to do as believers. No one likes to give up their control. We want to steer our own lives. We want to make our decisions. We want to do things our own way. But is giving God total control of our lives such a bad thing? I don’t think so! Giving everything to God is a voluntary loss that leads to an eternal gain! You lose your life, to gain a life in Him! You lose your will and follow His will instead. You lose the self-inflicted hurt and gain help from Him! You lose your inability to defeat the enemy, and you gain the ability to be more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ! Giving everything to God is the best and wisest loss anyone could ever take on in this life! I encourage you today to consider what you will gain… when you decide to lose.

We should be withholding absolutely nothing from God— no one, and no area of our lives should be off limits to Him. For, He created it and us all. It is HIS. We are HIS. All HIS! May we always give Him what we owe him and then some.

Meditation Scripture: “LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps” (Jeremiah 10:23).
