Take My Yoke Upon You

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” Isaiah 55:1

Isaiah 55:1 is God’s invitation to you: Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat… It’s an invitation for you to receive freely the blessings of the saviour. It’s an invitation for you to receive His grace and peace.

To those who are feeling a sense of weariness and heaviness: tap into the grace that’s available to you. Maybe you’re feeling weary and heavy-laden because of various reasons. It could be because of a spiritual, emotional or a physical thing. It could be because of something family-related or marriage-related. It could be that you lost your job because of this COVID season—whatever it is, if you’d only lean into God’s grace, you’d experience His refreshing and restoration.

Come to Christ and lean into Him, for he is the Fountain opened, he is the Rock smitten. Come to holy ordinances, to the streams that make glad the city of our God. Come to the healing water. Come to the living water so your weary and heavy-laden soul can be healed and refreshed.

This invitation is open to you, so forget about doing things your way and lean into doing things God’s way. Our way of doing things only leads to stress and more stress. But God’s way? It’s so much easier and better for us. God himself said,  “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He invites those who are weary and burdened to take His yoke upon them and learn from Him, for He is gentle and humble of heart; and those who are weary and burdened will find rest in Him.

I pray that as you lean into God’s grace you’ll experience His compassionate, kind and gentle heart. May supernatural rest, peace and grace be yours. Lean into God’s invitation to take His yoke upon you, for it is so much easier and better.

Be encouraged!
