To be bold is to be willing, confident, and courageous. It’s being willing to stand in the face of adversity, confident in criticism, and courageous enough to face fears. Boldness is a quality many admire in others especially when it pertains to openly sharing what should be shameful testimonies. But, what if I told you that boldness starts with a simple decision. That all it takes is a made-up mind to be well on your way to being considered as one of the BOLD ones for God.
I find that many persons allow shame, guilt, and doubt to prevent them from making that initial decision that comes what may I AM living outrightly for God. Romans 8:1 is one of my favourite scriptures. God reassures us in His word that He will never condemn us. There is no need to wear shame, guilt, or doubt as armour as believers. If God’s light shines through you then why be afraid?
I think the challenge, too, lies in our inability to realize that “God in us” is essentially him having the power to move and breath through us. Additionally, we may struggle to understand that His light indeed lives within us. It is not be hidden or stifled but put in a position for everyone to see and remember that God is to be glorified.
So, before you doubt your boldness, make a decision to shine. Whether it is through sharing a testimony the enemy tried to use to silence you, through selfless service or charitable giving. Let your light so shine. Be bold for God. Be brave for God so that your Father in heaven may be glorified.
