Choosing God will never be easy

We like to believe that serving God is light, airy and a walk in the park. Many present Christianity as fluff, angels, bright blue skies with little to no hardships in sight. Very few present the gut-wrenching realities of Christianity and as a result, it is viewed as easy. So easy a caveman could do it. Right? My apologies to those who feel this way. I hate to break it to you but it does take all that and more.

Can you think back to one of your hardest moments since you have said yes to God? Maybe you are going through it now. It’s hard. It makes you consider throwing in the towel and walking away from it all. Backslide and go back to the life of sin that was actually easier than the warfare, the uncertainty and the hard times.

Yes, I know. I’ve been there. Although I had all intention to walk away from the faith, I could never do it. Somehow through the pain and the chaos, God was still all I needed. Vashawn Mitchell summed it up best – I think – in his song. He said, “searched all over couldn’t find nobody. I looked high and low still couldn’t find nobody. Nobody greater, nobody greater no, no nobody greater than you.”

Nothing in this life gives me greater satisfaction than knowing God chose me and continues to choose me. Although, choosing Him is never easy. When I want to throw in the towel and give up on Him he still chooses me. That’s mindblowing to process. If you are finding it hard to choose God, be reminded that He will always choose you. Our salvation is one of the greatest gifts God could give and that satisfaction can be found in no other.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
