Come Away With Me

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

To the woman who works all day; has kids, manages a household, runs a business, tries to keep up with friends & family; all while trying to make your own life work without complaining, God sees you! Sure, you feel like a superwoman, and at times you feel like you’re on top of the world, but God hears those silent cries. God sees you trying to do all those things in your own strength. He sees how all those things have a negative impact on you mentally. He sees the frustration that you try so much to hide, and He says it’s time to rest.

Rest reminds us that God is Lord over every situation. Rest helps you refocus on what matters the most: the one who promises to provide all we need. When we try to do everything in our strength and leave God out of the equation, we get worn-out and frustrated by our mistakes and failures. But when we lean on God, we enter into His rest and can enjoy our lives, no matter what our circumstances may be.

To clarify, the rest of God is not resting from work—it’s resting in work. What that means is that you are partnering with God to do what He is calling you to do by His grace, and leaving the part you can’t do in His hands, trusting Him to do it.

I hear the voice of the Father saying to you His daughter:  (Read slowly and aloud)

Come away with me my child. Come away with me, come stay a little while. Come, come to me. I want to sing a song to your weary soul. I see you trying to fit the pieces together. I see you trying to hold the world up, but that’s not your job. Your hands are bruised from holding on for so long. Let go and release the weight into my hands. Release the weight that’s making you weary. Oh, won’t you come and spend a little while with me. You don’t have to do this on your own. I know that’s what you’re used to. You’ve been fighting on your own, but you no longer have to fight. I did not make you figure it out on your own. You weren’t made to be an island. Worry and anxiety have taken deep root in your mind. I want to give you rest. In my presence, there is fullest of Joy, and at my right hand are pleasures forevermore. Come rest here my child. Come drink from the living water. Come refresh your soul. Come take up my yoke for it is easy. Come take up my burden for it is light. All that you need for this time is in me. Receive my grace. Receive my grace. Receive my grace. It is sufficient for you.

I pray that you would take some time to truly rest in the presence of God.
