May I begin by asking you these questions: Are you waiting for God to answer your prayer? Are there prayers that you have long since taken off your prayer request list because you were sure God wasn’t going to answer them? Many years before the events described in Luke 1:11-20, a young couple—Zechariah and Elizabeth—prayed for a son. Unexpectedly one day, as Zechariah is ministering as a priest in the temple, the angel Gabriel appears and says, “‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard’” (NIV).
Beloved, God is still in the business of answering prayers. You’ve been asking, seeking, knocking and reaching out to the Lord, and now it’s time to get into position. It’s now time to get into position to receive what you have been praying for. He is still in the business of performing miracles, so don’t lose hope. It turns out that people who pray and receive miracles don’t just receive miracles; they position themselves to receive miracles. You can’t ask God for something and then don’t make ready to receive it.
There are a few scriptures in the bible that tells us that: (1) when we ask we shall receive (Matthew 7:7), and (2) everyone who asks, receives; and everyone who seeks, finds; and to everyone who knocks the door will be opened (Luke 11:9-13). It also tells us that “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16) and that the Lord withholds nothing good from those who walk blameless in His sight.
Don’t worry about how God will come through for you. Don’t worry about what time and when the breakthrough will show up. Your duty is to position yourself for a miracle. Do you trust in the God who can raise the dead and heal the sick? If you do, then get in position! You don’t want your blessing to catch you off guard.
Get up and position yourself by speaking the truth to the lies you have been believing. Speak to the doubt and the fear. Speak to anxiety and worry. God may be four days late, but He will come just on time. He will not delay for much longer; He is not slow in keeping His promises! Stay in the place of expectation and live with your hands and heart open wide!
