“My God is so big, so strong and so mighty. There’s nothing my God cannot do.”
Those lyrics hold so much truth. Whenever I heard those lyrics, as a child I would ask, “How big is God?” Do you know how big He is? I think it would be fruitless to try to figure out the answer to the question “How big is God?” because God’s size cannot be determined or even expressed by the human mind. God is not made of matter and does not have a physical form like ours. The fact is, God transcends physical dimensions. It is not possible to define Him by human standards of size and measurement. This is the God who created the universe, and everything we see, feel, and experience in it.
My God is so strong and mighty
Yes! Yes, He is! God is so strong, and there is none like Him in the entire universe. Psalm 24:8 says, “Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.” The Lord — He is no ordinary person, no other than Jehovah, who has given so many proofs of His almightiness, who has subdued all His enemies. Time and time again He has proven himself to be strong and mighty. “His name is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” Proverbs 18:10.
Where do you run for protection and safety? In this physical world, to protect us we need a physical structure, like a tower. But in this world, even a physical structure can fail us. However, in the spiritual world, the Lord tells us we can run to Him and stand strong behind the power of His name.
Ephesians 6:10 tells us that we are to, “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Here Paul encourages us to not rely on our own strength, but on the power, strength and might of God to win victory in life’s battles. In our own strength, we are no match for the evil plots and cruel strategies of the enemy, but we can be strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS might.
Friends, there’s nothing that God cannot do. He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think. With man, many things may seem impossible, but with God, all things are possible. He can change the situation that overwhelms you in a split second.
This knowledge of God should cause us to stand in awe of Him. Stand in awe of an awesome God who is able to keep us safe by the power, strength and might of His holy name. Stand in awe of Him, because He alone can give us the strength, power and might that we need to overcome life’s challenges. There’s nothing that God cannot do, so take all your worries, fear and anxieties to Him. Rest knowing that you serve a God who is big, strong, and might.
