Jesus Christ; the object of our hope

A new year just began, and I know many are now suffering from post-traumatic stress. 2020 was a year that caught everyone off guard! It was a very hard year, to say the least! I hear many saying that they are in no way looking forward to what this new year will bring; they are approaching this new year with much caution, and with little to no excitement.

While the bad in 2020 definitely outweighed the good, today I want to encourage you to look on with hope. I can’t say that things will get better soon, because they don’t seem to be getting any better. Despite the challenges, though, look on with hope.

Throughout this year, no matter what you face you can hope in God. You can have hope while you’re in suffering because your hope in suffering is never found by “looking on the bright side.”  Hope for the Christian is always about the object of our hope, Jesus Christ. He is on the throne, in control, and He will bring about the renewal of all who call upon His name. He is also a God who sees His people, and He isn’t afraid to make the warmth of His embrace known.

Keep hoping, and just you watch and see what God will do for you. Those who put their hope in God will never be disappointed (Isaiah 49:23). It is my hope and prayer that this verse of Scripture will lift your spirit; edify your soul and satisfy you in ways you’ve never been satisfied before.

The truth is, as we get closer and closer to the homecoming of our king, hardship will increase, but God does not disappoint. This new year, trust not in the arm of flesh to deliver you, nor do you, in misplaced allegiance, lean on someone other than the Lord in your times of need, but look to Jesus, for He is your hope!
