Meditation: John 3:14-17

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.  “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.   For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

God is the best at extending a hand of mercy and grace even after betrayal. He caused His most prized possession to see death so we could be reconciled unto Him. His son, Jesus Christ who knew no sin, took on our iniquities so we could be righteous in the sight of His Father.

What God did for mankind is still so beautiful. It still has so much power to bring any wretched man to his knees. What God did no one else can. Point me to a man who would be willing to give his one and only son over to death for the sake of another human…

God’s love for us was and still is so great. After all, He has done; all He commands is that we believe in, trust in, cling to and rely on Jesus. Whoever does that shall not see destruction,  but have everlasting life.

Friend, Jesus was crucified for the salvation of your soul. He was crucified so you could have an intimate relationship with God. Jesus who knew no sin became sin for you on the cross, and your sin was judged in Him. Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”  You might be willing to do a hundred things to earn your salvation, but God commands you to only trust in Him – to look to Him. As foolish as it may seem, just look to God and be saved.
