To walk in purity is a choice you have to make everyday. Sin is around us all the time, tempting us to make wrong choices. You have to make a decision every single day about whether or not you will stay the course or give in.
Hopefully, what you have been reading has challenged your heart. You have seen both sides of the coin. You have been able to weigh the options. You have hopefully questioned purity: to be or not to be?
You may be saying to yourself that it’s too late. You have tried this purity thing before and it doesn’t work. But girl, it works! It’s not a “super christian” type of thing! Anyone can walk in purity if you decide in your heart that you will do it. Allow God to help you, abide in His Word, and put the necessary safeguards in place.
Please note:
- You will be tempted, but 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that God will provide a way out.
- When you are weak, you will be made strong through Christ. His grace is all you need. 2 Corinthians 12:9
- From time to time you will fail, and that’s OK. There is room for failure, but do not stay there!
- You will more than likely lose some friends, and that’s OK too. The ones who understand and respect your decisions will stick around and encourage you. On the other hand, the ones who don’t understand and don’t share this value of yours will leave.
Do you still think this purity thing is for you? I challenge you to make the commitment:
Imagine a marksman shooting at nothing, he most likely will hit it every time! If he wants results, he must have a target; a goal to aim at. I now ask you to make purity your goal.
All those willing to take a stand of purity, I ask that you write these words down in your journal, date it, and then sign it:
“Now that I know that purity starts with me regardless of my past, I make a commitment to myself and to God, to walk in purity regardless of the world may say!”
GIVE IT A TRY! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!
