Sisterhood: My Prayer

Father, thank you for my sisters that you have given to me. Thank you for how you have orchestrated our lives so that we could do this journey together. Thank you for friends who love me, who share my sorrows, who laugh with me in celebration, who bear my pain, who need me as I need them, who cry as I cry, who hold me when I need them, and who give me the freedom to be myself. ABBA, thank you!

Father, how good it is when Christian sisters live and grow together in unity with each other and in love with Jesus. As your child who is called to represent you here on earth, help me to love my sisters as you love them. I am called to live by your standard and not the world. Help me to not conform to its ways of doing friendship. Help me to aim to love my friends with patience, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, kindness, and faithfulness. Father, you are love, so show me how to love. Show me how to prefer others above myself. Show me what it looks like to lay down my life for my sisters in Christ.

Abba, help me to value my sisters highly because they are your precious gift to me. Help me to remember to encourage and pray for them, especially in these times when they need it the most. Show me how to diligently serve them with a servant’s heart, because this is what you require of me. Keep us from all foolish arguments or bitterness, which can so often destroy a community. Bind us together in love, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and give each one the gifts and graces that are needed and as You see fit, so that together we may minister to each other.

May we individually and collectively be filled day by day with a knowledge of You, and may we all grow together in love and be filled with all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that together we may walk worthy of the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
