Your Life is Not Your Own

In what part of your life have you forgotten that your life is not your own? What part do you need to surrender to your Creator – the one who holds the blueprint of your life in his hands?

If you are a Christian, I know that you know that you are not your own. So why ask these questions? There are times when what we do exposes what we truly believe. The questions aren’t an exercise in shaming but they do call for an honest assessment of your life. With God’s wonderful grace in mind, you can take a good, honest look at yourself and ask: do I really believe that I am not my own?

Beloved, ask yourself these questions:

Once you’ve done your evaluation and realize that there are parts of your life that you need to surrender to God, turn and remember Him. Make the change, commit to living in a way that says: I am totally surrendered to God; withholding nothing from Him. I am at his disposal; to do anything he wants at any cost. I desire to do everything in the power that he supplies, so that in everything he gets the glory. Even when I am in pursuit of my dreams; I am careful to always come back to the center, ensuring that I am in alignment with Him.

Remember that God is your shepherd (Psalm 23). Remember that he will never leave or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6-8). Remember that God will always sustain you (Psalm 62:1-2). Remember that you need not worry about the future (Matthew 6:25-34). Remember that he will provide all that you need according to his riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Remember that God knows how your life will play out (Isaiah 46:10).
