God, The Father: Day 5

Many are struggling with the orphan spirit, and God wants to free you. He desires for you to experience life in Him.  If you are struggling with the orphan spirit, know that you can receive healing from this thing that has controlled your life for so long.  The first step to healing is admitting that there’s a problem in the first place. Please know that there should be no shame in this. We’ve all battled it at one point or another—some of us more than others, depending on the level of rejection or abandonment we’ve experienced in our lives.

I know what it means to have struggled with feeling like I just don’t measure up, like I don’t belong or that others are somehow better or have more to offer but thank God for his healing power! Jesus said, “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you!” Why would he say that? Because He knows that we all were born into an orphan system, under the orphan of all orphans – an enemy who seeks to keep us from enjoying life with our Heavenly Father and the security that is found in him. But the good news is that the Trinity is our true Family and they are committed to bringing every hidden part of us home.

If you resonated with any of these devotionals this week, why not take some time to pray and renounce the lies of the enemy? Then, like a little child, simply affirm and receive the Love of your Father. Trust Him to fill you with the revelation that you need of how much He adores, loves and enjoys you.

Pray this prayer with me:

“Father, I admit that I am struggling to connect with You in a healthy way because of the rejection and abandonment I’ve experienced in my past. I ask You to forgive me for assuming that You were like the human beings who have hurt me, and I ask You to help me start the process of healing that I so desperately need. I give You permission to begin uprooting the things in my life that is hindering me from walking in my true identity. Father, complete the work that you have started in me so that I may experience freedom in you. Open up my heart so that I may be able to receive your love. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
