God’s Masterpiece

For I am God’s masterpiece. He has created me anew in Christ Jesus, so I can do the good things he planned for me long ago.

I find that personalizing the scripture makes it much more enjoyable and meaningful, especially when you want to use the word of God as an affirmation. Above, I have personalised Ephesians 2:10 just for you,  so you can use it to affirm your identity in Christ. YOU ARE GOD’S MASTERPIECE AND NOTHING LESS!

Ephesians 2:10 is an astonishing passage that not only reveals the special care God took to make you but also to design the very ‘good works’ that you are supposed to do. Girl, there’s no one else quite like you in this world! You are God’s beautiful work of art! You are God’s poem and His crowning achievement.

The psalmist wrote of this when he said, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous — how well I know it” Psalm 139:13–14. Also, if you look at scripture, it would appear that God had a plan for you,  even before you were conceived. In Jeremiah, we read, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (1:5 NKJV). Girl, this is your identity, so wear it like a crown!

Think of a poem. A poem carries the idea of rhythm, orderliness and beauty. It speaks of something that’s perfect. I know you may look at your life now and only see your flaws and imperfections, but God sees you as His masterpiece! He’s not trying to boost you so you can feel good, it’s the truth! You may say that you’re anything but beautiful, but when God looks at you, He sees you as you will be!

All you have to do today is affirm yourself with this biblical truth! Repeat after me: I AM GOD’S MASTERPIECE AND NOTHING LESS!  Doesn’t it just take your breath away to know that there is someone that feels this way about you? Go ahead, beautiful! Wear your identity well!
