How to Bounce Back Stronger in Ministry

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Exodus 14:13-14

I can envision the emotions the people of Israel must have experienced while enduring captivity in a foreign land, far from their homeland. Each day likely felt like a struggle, striving toward a goal that seemed elusive, yearning for freedom with every fibre of their being. Initially, their hopes burned bright, illuminating a path to liberation. Yet, as the years passed, those hopes gradually transformed into a sense of resigned acceptance, as they adapted to the harsh realities of their new existence. Their journey resonates deeply with me, as I, too, have known the feeling of being confined, yearning for release from the constraints that bind. However, my prison was my mind.

The year 2020 was such a unique year for me. While the wider world was on the edge waiting to see what that new virus was all about, little did I know that my own little world would also be crumbling soon. These details i’ll share at a later time. I went into 2020 with optimism at the highest level I’d ever seen in my life. I was firmly grounded in my identity in God, revelling in the joy of celebrating my first year of marriage. With each passing day, I was flourishing in my role at work, eagerly embracing new challenges and opportunities. Life felt invigorating as I embraced growth and stepped into my purpose with confidence, blossoming into the person I was meant to be.

The Importance of Honour

Is honour the elusive key to effective ministry? Despite my fervent eagerness to step boldly into my purpose in 2020, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something vital was missing. I longed for a mentor, a guide who could provide the necessary covering for the path I was called to tread; someone who personally understood the prophetic mantle and its complexities. If this is your first encounter with me you might not know about my past or the things I have overcome to be ready to walk in purpose in the first place. I didn’t want to navigate this season of my spiritually on my own. It is important for me submit to leadership, to have accountability or someone to just pull you in when you veer off course. While the Holy Spirit is there to guide us, sometimes we are so deep into our mess, we need accountability partners to help guide us in our daily walk and challenging seasons.

Regrettably, I entrusted that responsibility to someone who proved undeserving of it. (My latest Instagram post will add more context to this portion of the blog.) In summary, a well-revered leader (at the time) told me my Ministry sounded like Dr Phil and that I needed to have more power and be (essentially) more preachy. In the moment, it felt like my access was denied, and my visa was revoked. It felt like I was unqualified to inspire and motivate young women and girls through transformational transparent testimonies – even though God told me so and lives were being changed. Those words cut down that tree of purpose God planted inside me right at a blossoming moment and for 3 years it felt like someone stole my voice. I did not speak. I did not testify.

A hit was put on my purpose.

Your Season of Restoration is Here

In the year 2022 God said, “Your season of restoration is here”. I didn’t believe it but I didn’t need to. All I needed was enough faith to walk in obedience. I gave birth to my son and by the end of that year I received an invitation to speak on the biggest platform my feet had ever touched. I was placed among the biggest names in Women Empowerment – not to preach, not to be a wailing, “powerful”, heavy-breathing minister but to SPEAK & WRITE. To give strategy; to share wisdom; to help women walk the Christian walk while developing the different areas of being a Christian woman.

IT WAS MY SEASON OF RESTORATION.

I was terrified but I was in tune with the Spirit. I continued to walk through that season and so many doors have opened. I am now a part of the planning team of Woman Ignite Success Summit – the platform that helped me kickstart my healing journey and I put my ALL in. It’s such a testament to God’s ability to nurture His children and help them navigate tough seasons. The year 2022 started my season of restoration. In 2023 I opened my mouth for the first time in 3 years and a year later at #WISS2024 God completed the healing. I now am empowered to continue. I now am accelerated to WIN.

And to that I say, “Welcome Back Amoy – The Anointed Writer!”

How to Bounce Back Stronger

  • Know your identity, be confident in your identity and trust God to establish your identity in the eyes of others.
  • Give the disappointment to GOD. Romans 12:19 KJV says, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” God’s got you. You don’t have to fight for yourself.
  • Master the art of obedience. Do what God says when he says it and HOW He says it.
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to HEAL YOU.
  • Guard your heart. Everyone should not have authority to speak over you. Let God be the leader of your life and allow him to appoint sound leaders to you here on earth.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.
